“Overgangmakers” is an independent documentary project that portrays menopause: its impact, the misunderstandings and the possibilities to deal with it.

Based on my own experience with menopause, I, photographer Marieke Zwartscholten, have launched “Overgangmakers.” This independent documentary project photographs and interviews women going through menopause. I also share scientifically proven information.

The personal photos, stories, and information are brought together in a beautiful book and a unique exhibition, which will contribute to the recognition and understanding of symptoms, opportunities and access to them.

The translation for “Overgangmakers” is “Menopause Makers”, but to be honest: it doesn’t translate well.
